For the longest time I always had the idea that wearing a single color from head to toe was just boring and unflattering. Ooouuu child was I wrong…
There is nothing I love more than a casual and laid back look; especially a neutral look paired with some sneakers for extra simplicity.
Is this nude two piece set starting to look familiar yet? 🙂 This is the second look I’ve created with this set so be sure to check out the first look here . I think it is important to know how to maximize your wardrobe which will save you a lot of money not having to buy an outfit for every occasion. How do you do that? By filling your wardrobe with basics which are very versatile.
I decided to put together a monochrome look(the new big thing) and since comfort was key, I swapped those heels for my nude creepers.
Here are some guidelines I use to pull off the perfect monochrome look:
1. Stick to one tone:
That’s the whole point of a monochrome look. If you are doing nude, black, mustard, burgundy, etc…do it from top to bottom. Not to be confused with a different shade, you can still have some contrasting pieces so long as you stay to your color scheme. (Just like how my jacket is a contrasting shade of a very neutral rose gold)
2. Play around with different textures:
Just like I mixed this satin texture of the bomber jacket with the cotton texture of the co-ord set. You could even do a fur jacket which would look great as well.
3. Lastly, add one contrasting element:
This is where you throw in blending accessories or even shoes with contrast. This can be a purse, fur stoles or simply shoes that add a slightly different shade to the color scheme of your choice.( Just like how the brownish sole of my shoes blend in perfectly with the nude color)
