HAPPY NEW YEAR my loves! *pops champagne*
It is such a refreshing feeling to start a new year on a really positive note. However, looking back at the past year, so many experiences taught me a lot and I hope this post will motivate you to carry on 2017 successfully.
This past year, I can honestly say I lived and learnt with no regrets at all. If you are looking forward to a prosperous 2017, consider some of the experienced lessons I’m about to share with you:
1. KNOW YOUR CIRCLE
CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS WISELY! (I had to put that in caps). 2016 really taught me that not everyone who you talk to is worth being called a friend. Ask yourself, do you want a group of friends that will slow down your success or one that drives you towards your success? What do I mean? There are friends that just want you to have fun with them (which is not bad once in a while) and those that are there to support your endeavors by being there for you every step of the way. It’s up to you to choose wisely.
2. TAKE RISKS
Do not be afraid of getting out of your comfort zone. you wanna do something, go ahead and give it a try. At the end of the day, you never know what you are capable of until you give it a try. Long story short, never let fear take over your thoughts of being successful!
3. NEVER WAIT FOR THE RIGHT TIME
This has to be the worst time killer because there is no such thing as ‘the right time.’ It only slows down your time to be productive to achieve success. I remember how scared I was to launch ‘stylemeshaz.com’ because I was waiting for ‘the right time’ (When I’m free, when school is out and when I’m done with my daunting career, nursing). I believed that I am not a “multitasker” to handle both school and blogging… Not until I took the risk and considered all the people who encouraged and believed in me.
4. STAY ON TRACK WITH YOUR GOALS
Have a vision board which lays out all your goals in clear sight. Put it up on a wall in your room and when you wake up every morning, let that be your drive and motivation. Avoid procrastination at all costs!
5. ACCEPT FAILURE AS A LESSON
Trust me, it is ok to fail. Failing should be your motivation to even do better next time. No one was born perfect; and if you listen to the stories of the most successful people in the world, you will realize one thing: They did not become who they are in the present without having downs in their journey. Take failing as a learning step to your awaiting success.
So toodles 2016…hello 2017!
